Preamble Statement XELLZ is committed to developing an organizational culture which implements a policy of support for internationally recognized human rights and seeks to avoid complicity in human rights abuses. We support the principles contained within the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and the ILO Core Conventions on Labour Standards. XELLZ seeks to identify, assess and manage human rights impacts within our value chain in line with the following policy aims: 1. Employees To respect the human rights of our employees, including non-discrimination, prohibition of child and forced labor, and freedom of association and the right to engage in collective bargaining. 2. Suppliers and Contractors To evaluate and select major suppliers and contractors, taking into consideration XELLZ's Human Rights and Social Policies, and to monitor their performance where appropriate. To advance the application of the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work through engagement and collaboration where necessary. To ensure as far as feasible there is no child, forced, trafficked or slave labor in the XELLZ value chain. 3. Local Communities To respect the cultures, customs and values of the people in communities in which we operate. To contribute, within the scope of our capabilities, to promote the fulfillment of human rights through improving economic, environmental and social conditions and serve as a positive influence in communities in which we operate. To have open dialogue with stakeholders and participate in community engagement activities. To ensure the provision of security is consistent with international standards of best practice and the laws of the countries in which we operate, using security services only where necessary and requiring the use of force only when necessary and proportionate to the threat. 4. Society To participate where appropriate in public affairs in a non-partisan and responsible way to promote internationally recognized human rights. To play a positive role, within our spheres of influence, in capacity-building for the realization of human rights within countries of operation. To promote the realization of environmental sustainability and development through our core business and through our participation in other multi stakeholder activities where appropriate. To uphold the highest standards in business ethics and integrity and where appropriate to support efforts of national and international authorities to establish and enforce such standards for all businesses. XELLZ Human Rights Statement XELLZ is committed to developing an organizational culture which implements a policy of support for the internationally recognized human rights contained within the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and seeks to avoid complicity in human rights abuses. Our commitment to the realization of human rights is set out in the Group's Human Rights Policy and its Social Policy. Key human rights issues are embedded in internal risk assessment processes and guidelines, as well as being addressed explicitly in documents such as the Supplier Code of Conduct. XELLZ reports on its performance in the annual Group Sustainability Report based on the criteria appropriate to XELLZ in the Global Reporting Initiative. XELLZ seeks to improve its human rights performance by referencing and implementing key international principles such as the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, as well as relevant international conventions and standards such as those of the International Labor Organization. XELLZ continues to be involved in multilateral efforts to support human rights through organizations such as the United Nations Global Compact and the Global Business Initiative on Human Rights, as well as taking part in a wide range of other activities designed to promote the corporate responsibility to respect human rights.

Our policy aims: 1. XELLZ in society To contribute within the scope of our capabilities to improving economic, environmental and social conditions through our business activities, open dialogue with stakeholders and active participation in common efforts to support social progress. 2. Human rights To respect national and international law, as well as international standards on human rights in the value chain. 3. Child and forced labor To ensure as far as feasible there is no child, forced, slave or trafficked labor in our value chain. 4. Freedom of engagement To require that all employees enter into employment with the company of their own free will and have the choice to leave their employment freely upon reasonable notice. 5. Health and safety To provide a safe and healthy working environment for employees and contractors at all sites and facilities, and to take adequate steps to prevent accidents and injury to health arising in the course of work by minimizing, so far as is reasonably practicable, the risks inherent in the working environment. 6. Employee consultation and communication To facilitate regular consultation with all employees to address areas of concern. To respect the right of all personnel to form and join trade unions of their choice and to bargain collectively. To ensure that representatives of personnel are not the subject of discrimination and that such representatives have access to their members in the workplace. To make sure, in any case of major layoffs, that a social benefits and guidance plan is in place, and already known to employees or their official representatives. 7. Equality of opportunity To offer equality of opportunity to all employees and not to engage in or support discrimination in hiring, compensation, access to training, promotion, termination or retirement on any basis including ethnic and national origin, caste, religion, disability, gender, age, sexual orientation, union membership, or political affiliation. 8. Harassment and disciplinary practices To counteract the use of mental or physical coercion, verbal abuse and corporal/hard-labor punishment; and not to allow behavior, including gestures, language and physical contact, that is sexual, coercive, threatening, abusive or exploitative. To develop and maintain equitable procedures to deal with employee grievances and disciplinary practices. 9. Working hours To comply with applicable laws and industry standards on working hours, including over-time. 10. Compensation To ensure that wages paid meet or exceed the legal or industry minimum standards and are always sufficient to meet basic needs of personnel and to provide some discretionary income. To ensure that wage and benefits composition are detailed clearly and regularly for workers, and that compensation is rendered in full compliance with all applicable laws and in a manner convenient to workers. To ensure that labor-only contracting arrangements and false apprenticeship schemes are not used to avoid fulfilling ABB’s obligations under applicable laws pertaining to labor and social security legislation and regulations. 11. Suppliers To evaluate and select major suppliers and subcontractors taking into consideration their ability to meet the requirements of the XELLZ Social Policy. 12. Community involvement To promote and participate in community engagement activities that actively foster economic, environmental and social development, as part of XELLZ’s commitment to the communities where it operates. 13. Business ethics To uphold the highest standards in business ethics and integrity and to support efforts of national and international authorities to establish and enforce such standards for all businesses.

We strive to reduce our own environmental impact. We contribute to eco-efficiency and environmental stewardship in the communities and countries where we operate. Our core businesses offer energy-efficient systems, products and services, which enables our customers to lower their use of energy and natural resources. Environmental management is one of our highest business priorities and we are committed to:
  • Conducting our operations in an environmentally sound manner by applying environmental management systems, in all our operations and by applying environmental principles, such as commitment to continual improvement, legal compliance and awareness training of employees, in all our projects operations worldwide
  • Promoting environmental responsibility along the value chain by encouraging suppliers, sub-contractors and customers to adopt international environmental standards
  • Developing our operational processes with focus on energy and resource efficiency
  • Conducting regular audits of our locations’ environmental performance and in connection with acquisitions, divestments and mergers
  • Transferring eco-efficient technologies to developing countries
  • Developing and marketing services and systems which are resource efficient and facilitate use of renewable energy sources
  • Declaring environmental performance of our core services by publishing environmental service declarations based on life-cycle assessment
  • Including environmental aspects in the risk assessment of major industrial projects
  • Ensuring transparency by producing frequent Sustainability report.
The environment policy is an integral part of XELLZ´s commitment to sustainability and is embedded in our strategies, processes and day-to-day business throughout the XELLZ Group.
